SafeGuards / PFA Update Regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19)
SafeGuards/ PFA would like to take a moment to update you on what we are doing as an organization in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The COVID-19 news cycle is seemingly updated every hour or even less. SafeGuards/ PFA is committed to constant monitoring of the situation and will be communicating with our various stakeholders as updates are needed.
SafeGuards/ PFA has as its top priority the safety and wellbeing of our clients and associates.
At present we do not have any presumptive positive or confirmed cases of COVID-19 among staff or clients, so our efforts have been concentrated on making sure we are following CDC guidance on cleaning/disinfecting of communal areas, as well as encouraging our associates to practice appropriate hygiene to prevent transmission of infectious disease (frequent hand washing, covering your mouth when coughing, avoiding contact with ill people, etc.).
We are also modifying programming for the juveniles enrolled in the foster care program. Starting Monday, 3/16/2020, we will not have youth participating in services at the office buildings and will be implementing video conferencing sessions for each foster home. Those services will include case management, home safety and clinical interventions.
We will offer telephone calls for youth family members from the foster homes.
We will be post-poning any visits that are scheduled for the week of 3/16/2020.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us, via email or at the number below, with any questions you may have. I will work with you to get the answer or information requested.
Thank you,
Jennifer Mongi and Scott Dengler
