Since 2000, the SafeGuards Foster Care program has been offering a unique, full-continuum of foster care services to help many children in Pennsylvania. With offices in Reading and Bethlehem, PA we strive to assist children involved with both juvenile justice and child welfare agencies in succeeding and overcoming severe obstacles in order to become successful, responsible members of the community.

Our program emphasizes accountability and promotes a youth’s desire to develop social, academic, and emotional skills for future success. By modeling pro-social family life, we assist youth in developing healthy relationships with their peers and adults. Constructive role modeling by foster parents is a cornerstone of the agency.

Coronavirus Message

Due to the escalating and dynamic situation surrounding COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and to ensure the safety, health and well-being of our clients, their families, and our staff members, SafeGuards/PFA is planning, and adapting as swiftly and appropriately as possible. We are identifying and introducing new policies, and continuously elevating sanitation procedures.

We have modified programming for the juveniles enrolled in the foster care program. Youth will participate in services via video conferencing sessions. Those services will include case management, home safety and clinical interventions.

We appreciate your support and positivity during this time. Thank you!

Foster Care
